Job summary

RPIA Capital Management is seeking an Investment Accountant to join our Investment Accounting team in Toronto, Ontario. This full-time permanent role focuses on hedge fund accounting, internal controls, and accurate financial data processing under the direction of the Director, Investment Accounting.

Key tasks include NAV reviews, record analysis, discrepancy resolution, price and market value checks, and preparation of valuations and financial statements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in hedge fund accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous derivatives accounting experience.
  • Experience in reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Experience in data analysis, interpretation and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with Advanced MS Excel skills, specifically: pivot tables, V/H-look ups, macros, what if analysis and dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, controls, and reporting.
  • Salesforce CRM knowledge and coding experience is considered an asset.

  • Cash Planning: Performs monthly cash planning for capital activities and expenses.
  • Metrics Reporting: Collects and prepares monthly metrics reports.
  • Ad-Hoc Support: Assists the team with various ad-hoc tasks as needed.

Job description

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Investment Accountant to join our Investment Accounting team.

As an Investment Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our Investment Accounting team, which is responsible for RPIA’s fund accounting function and the development and maintenance of internal controls and processes. Reporting to the Director, Investment Accounting, this role requires solid hedge fund accounting experience and expertise in advanced Excel. Your work will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, support the smooth execution of accounting operations, and contribute to the overall success and compliance of the firm.

The duties and responsibilities of the Investment Accountant include but are not limited to:
  • NAV Review: Reviews daily and month-end NAV packages.
