Job summary

Parker Hannifin Canada is seeking an experienced Inventory Planner for its Milton office. Parker Hannifin Canada is offering an opportunity for an experience Inventory Planner to join our Milton, Ontario head office.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities

  • Plan inventory levels across 3 locations for parts from assigned vendors and maintain master data such as lead time, minimum order quantities, box quantities and purchase price to ensure that planning levels are accurate.
  • Order parts from assigned vendors and manage assigned vendor performance to maintain planned inventory levels and to meet customer expectations for unplanned demands (including rush orders, orders for slow moving parts, and other special circumstances).
  • Co-ordinate deliveries with vendors, customer service and logistics and communicate part availability status and latest delivery information to Customer Service using various systems and tools.
  • Manage slow moving inventory from assigned vendors and work with cross functional teams to minimize aging inventory using various strategies (returns, reconfigurations, sales, etc)
  • Review and update governance reports to ensure that all target metrics are being met.
  • Resolve in-transit and inventory accuracy discrepancies.
  • Process stock transfers between plants as required.
  • Investigate Non-Conformances and co-ordinate resolutions with other cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate and Interface with all plant and division functions including business units, engineering, operations, sales and marketing.
  • Identify, develop, and execute cost and inventory reduction initiatives aligned to Divisional plans.
  • Effectively utilize team boards to drive department metrics.
  • Participate in Lean activities.
  • Lead supplier collaboration meetings with key internal/external stake holders
  • Participate in daily production meetings; to review due dates/shipping dates, response time for backlogged purchase orders, inquiries, shipping/receiving and production order set-up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • University degree in Business or Engineering (Supply Chain/Operations focus/minor preferred)
  • CSCP, CPIM, CPSM designation or equivalent preferred or in progress
  • Member of the Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS) preferred

Experience and Skills

  • 5-7 years of Inventory Planning / Vendor Management
  • Must have a deep understanding of MRP concepts and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations related to medium manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of Steel/Aluminum machining techniques
  • Knowledge of lean and quality concepts
  • Knowledge of systems for purchasing and inventory control
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Advanced computer skills – Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Superior follow up and organizational skills
  • Ability to stay adaptable and maintain commitments
  • Ability to work independently, with minimum direction
  • Ability to prioritize, take ownership, problem solve and be proactive while working in a team environment and providing excellent customer service
