Job summary

Amrize is seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to oversee multi-site reconciliations and valuations within a SOX/US GAAP framework, supporting accurate financial reporting from our Calgary footprint.

The role requires a CPA designation, manufacturing industry expertise, and strong SAP/ERP capabilities to maintain internal controls, perform cost and variance analyses, and drive process improvements. Travel up to 10% is anticipated.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation is required and CPA preferred.
  • 3+ years of financial management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP / SOX controls.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multi-site inventory reconciliations and valuations.
  • Oversee standard costing and inventory revaluation processes.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and support month-end close activities.
  • Analyze inventory variances and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Serve as finance SME for SAP inventory processes and assist in system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with operations to improve stock management and costing methodologies.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and ensure compliance with SOX/GAAP.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Inventory Controller manages and oversees multi-site inventory reconciliations and valuations to ensure accurate financial reporting and valuation within a SOX / USGAAP framework. Positioned within the finance team, this role requires a CPA designation, manufacturing industry expertise, and SAP / ERP capabilities to maintain robust internal controls and drive process improvements.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Financial Oversight & Reconciliation: Lead and manage inventory reconciliations, physical stock counts, general ledger, and sub-ledgers.
  • Standard Costing & Revaluation: Drive the periodic standard costing process and inventory revaluation routines to maintain accurate product costing.
  • Internal Controls & Audit Compliance: Maintain robust internal controls over inventory, lead month-end closing activities, conduct balance sheet reviews, and support internal/external audit requirements.
  • Documentation Management: Create and manage a centralized repository for inventory-related documentation (drone surveys, scale calibrations, monthly reconciliations).
  • Systems Expertise (SAP): Serve as the finance subject matter expert for inventory-related SAP processes.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously refine inventory tracking, valuation methodologies and stock management procedures across the manufacturing and network footprint.
  • Variance Analysis & Reporting: Analyze, report, and provide actionable insights on inventory variances.
  • Industry & System Requirements: Experience in a manufacturing environment along with advanced SAP skills and strong business partnering capabilities.
Field of Study Preferred

Accounting and Finance Degree

Additional Education Preferred

Professional accounting designation required (CPA)

Required Work Experience

3+ years of financial management experience with increasing responsibility and complex roles

  • US GAAP / SOX experience required
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment along with advanced SAP skills and strong business partnering capabilities.
  • Strong ability to influence with and without authority.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
