Our client is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Supervisor to oversee inventory accuracy and control within a busy warehouse and distribution environment. This role will lead cycle counts, investigate inventory discrepancies, prepare reports, conduct quality checks, and supervise inventory control staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cycle counts and full physical inventories; investigate and resolve inventory variances.
- Reconcile physical inventory with the WMS and document root causes and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate bin locations, labeling, slotting, and inventory records.
- Track lot numbers, batch codes, and expiry dates; enforce FIFO/FEFO practices.
- Manage damaged, expired, returned, and quarantined inventory.
- Coordinate with Receiving, Outbound, DTC, and Returns teams to ensure accurate and timely transactions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports covering accuracy, adjustments, aging, shrink, and inventory levels.
- Maintain Excel/WMS reports and dashboards and monitor inventory KPIs and trends.
- Support month-end reconciliations, client audits, and inventory reporting.
- Perform inbound quality checks and outbound order audits for quantity, SKU, lot/expiry, packaging, labeling, and pick/pack accuracy.
- Document and follow up on damages, mislabels, and short/over shipments.
- Maintain SOPs and checklists for inventory counts, receiving inspections, and order audits.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and coach inventory control staff and warehouse associates.
- Promote proper scanning and transaction practices, workplace safety, and compliance with Ontario OHSA requirements.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce inventory errors, shrink, and rework.
Job Experience
- 3+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse, distribution, or 3PL environment.
- At least 1 year leading employees or a team function.
- Hands-on WMS and RF scanning experience.
- Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reporting.
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Knowledge of lot control, expiry tracking, FIFO/FEFO, and inventory reconciliation.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with quality inspections or audits is an asset.
- Beauty, cosmetics, personal care, or consumer packaged goods experience is an asset.
- Forklift certification is an asset; willingness to obtain certification is acceptable.
- Spanish or another second language is an asset.
Job Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is an asset.
- APICS/ASCM CPIM or similar certification is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, permanent; Monday to Friday, day shift.
- Occasional evenings/weekends may be required during peak periods or physical inventories.
- Combination of warehouse floor and office work, including regular walking, standing, bending, and ladder use.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Warehouse environment with forklifts, pallet jacks, and seasonal temperature changes.
- Required PPE includes safety footwear and high-visibility vest.
