Job summary

Xanadu is hiring for an Inventory Control role in downtown Toronto. You will track assets, restock supplies, organize lab equipment, and handle sensitive materials while coordinating shipping/receiving across Xanadu facilities.

The position requires organization, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced lab environment. The base salary ranges CAD 60,000 to 70,000 per year, with eligibility for equity and benefits.

Your role and responsibilities:

As part of the Inventory Control team, you will be responsible for assisting with general inventory control duties for a cutting-edge photonic hardware lab located in downtown Toronto. Your main responsibilities will include assisting in asset tracking, restocking supplies, organizing lab equipment, handling sensitive materials, and rapidly shipping/receiving/delivering critical components; potentially across Xanadu Facilities in Toronto. You will also help ensure that all aspects of the lab run smoothly; this can include occasionally helping with equipment setup, installation, cleaning, and other general tasks within the lab. You will have a proven track record of excellence in organization, a strong work ethic, and experience working around delicate equipment.

• Ensuring lab stock is properly filled and accounted for on a weekly basis
• Keeping inventory software up to date with all the correct data
• Helping with mail pickups, asset tagging, and delivering items to other Xanadu teams on site or at a different location
• Checking on outbound shipments and helping ensure their timely delivery
• Packaging and shipping sensitive items
• Consolidating physical items in the inventory software and keeping the lab inventory up to date
• Implementing organizational improvements to our lab stock
• Assisting with yearly inventory audits and maintaining an up-to-date internal equipment checklist

Basic qualifications and experience:

• Applicant is legally eligible to work in Canada as of the start date and is able to work on-site
• 2+ years of work experience in a relevant area (inventory control, shipping/receiving, data management)
• A valid Ontario G license (or out-of-province equivalent valid for driving in Ontario)
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite/GSuite
• Exceptional interpersonal and time management skills, with a proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and requests effectively within a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated worker able to carry out tasks and complete daily mission-critical checklists effectively and consistently
• Highly organized with a meticulous, detail-oriented working style

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• Experience working in a laboratory environment or in a facility with sensitive equipment
• Experience with ERP systems (Netsuite, SAP, MS Dynamics, etc.)
• Experience with inventory management systems
• Able to lift over 30lbs on occasion (when handling equipment and deliveries)

This is for a new position. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and internal benchmarks. The base salary range is 60,000 - 70,000 CAD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
