Job summary

ANDRITZ Canada - Hydro in Pointe-Claire, QC is offering an internship in Hydro Services Engineering. You will join a multidisciplinary team working on engineering, project management, procurement, installation and commissioning of hydroelectric equipment.

Interns collaborate on real projects and gain hands-on experience in a high-tech environment. Day-to-day involves preparing service offers, analyzing customer needs, drafting proposals, and conducting market research, with CRM updates and cost

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of a mechanical or electrical engineering studies.
• Strong motivation, initiative and autonomy.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Good organizational skills and ability to handle shifting priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the preparation of service offers by gathering data, costs, and schedules.
• Contribute to analysis of customer needs from equipment history and performance reports.
• Assist in drafting commercial proposals, presentations, and follow-up documents.
• Conduct market research on existing hydroelectric plants, modernization opportunities, or upcoming bids (RFP).
• Support the team in CRM management: updating contacts, tracking opportunities, and documenting interactions.
• Prepare cost analyses and technical summaries to support account managers.
• Participate in internal or external meetings to observe technical and commercial discussions.

Within ANDRITZ Canada - Hydro, service sales play a strategic role in supporting customers throughout the life cycle of their hydroelectric facilities. Commercial teams work to understand operators’ technical and operational needs, propose tailored solutions—whether related to modernization, maintenance, performance optimization, or specialized services—and build long-term relationships based on trust. Thanks to ANDRITZ’s recognized expertise in electromechanical equipment and hydraulic technologies, interns involved in service sales participate in the development of technical offers, asset data analysis, and the preparation of commercial proposals that directly contribute to the company’s growth and customer satisfaction.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Participate in the preparation of service offers (maintenance, modernization, technical inspections) by gathering technical data, costs, and schedules.
• Contribute to the analysis of customer needs by reviewing equipment history, performance reports, or support requests.
• Assist in drafting commercial proposals, customer presentations, and follow-up documents.
• Conduct market research on existing hydroelectric power plants, modernization opportunities, or upcoming calls for bids (RFP).
• Support the team in CRM management: updating contacts, tracking opportunities, and documenting interactions.
• Prepare comparative tables, cost analyses, or technical summaries to support account managers.
• Participate in internal or external meetings to observe technical and commercial discussions.

What you need to succeed:

• Be enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of a mechanical or electrical engineering studies
• Demonstrate strong motivation, initiative, and autonomy
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude (conceptualization and 3D perception, mechanism assembly, knowledge of mechanical connection and locking components, practical applications)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure with competing and changing priorities
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
