Job summary

ANDRITZ Canada is seeking a Human Resources Advisor who will participate in recruitment and employee development across the Canadian operations. Reporting to the Director of Employee Development, this role centers on deploying career and training plans and strengthening retention strategies while building lasting relationships with higher education partners.

You will support staffing, design training plans, coordinate external training, and help implement internal communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management or industrial relations or a related field.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is an asset.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a human resources department.
  • Consulting experience in recruitment, training and employee development.
  • Knowledge of university or college environments is an asset.
  • Autonomous with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent priority management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong customer service and collaboration skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (English-French bilingualism required).
  • Diplomacy, empathy, discretion and creativity.
  • Positive attitude and available for occasional travel in Quebec and Canada.
  • Available to work variable hours depending on training and recruitment schedule.
  • Knowledge of integrated HR systems, such as SuccessFactors or Workday, an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the staffing process for vacant positions according to ANDRITZ hiring rules;
  • Recommend and implement search strategies to identify the best candidates;
  • Keep abreast of the latest recruitment methods and carry out active headhunting;
  • Participate in the salary recommendation process;
  • Regularly inform employees of vacancies and encourage internal mobility;
  • Participate in the development of new career progression plans to mobilize and retain expertise and talent;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of training plans for all employees in Canada by researching the latest training courses, suppliers and tools;
  • Collate data and identify common needs between departments to optimize training investments;
  • Coordinate external training requests and see to the logistical needs inherent in training;
  • Collate e-learning needs and coordinate the development of new training courses;
  • Help implement and monitor the employee retention plan;
  • Maintain and develop relationships with educational institutions according to the established plan;
  • Contribute to strategic intelligence on best practices;
  • Suggest innovative approaches;
  • Help develop internal and external communications strategies.

Job description

Under the supervision of the Director, Employee Development, the Human Resources Advisor will participate in the recruitment and development of employees throughout their career with the company. The deployment of career and training plans is central to this position, as is the deployment of employee and recognition retention strategies. The successful candidate will also contribute to maintaining lasting relationships with Canadian higher education institutions and trade schools.

The responsibilities for this key role fall into three main areas:

Recruitment
  • Contribute to the staffing process for vacant positions according to ANDRITZ hiring rules;
