Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure incoming goods comply with Canada Border Services Agency requirements, including tariff classifications and trade data management through the CBSA CARM Portal.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, couriers, freight companies, and government agencies to facilitate smooth import processes and adhere to applicable trade regulations.
  • Work with internal teams to classify goods under Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes and support trade compliance initiatives.
  • Monitor customs clearance progress and swiftly resolve any issues or delays to maintain supply chain efficiency.
  • Interface regularly with third-party logistics providers and internal stakeholders to facilitate customs processes and documentation.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable International Trade Compliance Specialist to manage and ensure the proper handling of goods in compliance with trade regulations. This key role involves collaborating with internal teams, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to support timely customs clearance and accurate tariff classifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of international trade policies, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.   • Knowledge of import/export documentation and customs procedures for U.S., Canadian, and international markets.
  • Certification as a Canadian Society of Customs Brokers Certified Trade Compliance Specialist or the ability to attain this certification within one year of hiring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication capabilities.
  • Willingness to collaborate with international teams and support global trade operations.
