Job summary

Algo Communication Products in Burnaby, BC, is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to support our Business Technology team. You will be the primary internal IT resource, ensuring internal systems are secure, well-managed, and supported, coordinating with external IT providers and collaborating with the broader tech group.

This role requires hands-on development ability, strong Microsoft 365 administration, and a track record in ISO 27001 deployments.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in mid-to-senior IT role.
• Ability to write, modify and debug code.
• Experience in large organizations with IT processes.
• Strong Microsoft 365 admin skills (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune).
• Experience with device management across OS and security tools.
• Solid networking knowledge: firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi.
• Experience with APIs, Microsoft Graph, SSO, app permissions, credential management.
• Cloud deployment, monitoring, backups, recovery.
• ISO 27001 implementation experience valuable.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day IT, including Microsoft administration, infrastructure, networking, and employee support.
• Coordinate external IT support and maintain documentation, backups, and recovery plans.
• Improve system security with Business Tech team.
• Review setup, identify gaps, propose and implement changes.
• Lead ISO 27001 controls, evidence, and actions.
• Structure IT assets, access, configurations, devices, and lifecycle.
• Build tools and integrations; collaborate with developers on apps and connectivity.
• Centralize visibility into Windows, MacOS, Linux devices and manage configs and updates.
