Job summary

Alteo Inc. in Montreal is seeking a Senior System Administrator for a permanent, hybrid role with 2 days in the office. You will manage on‑premises and Azure infrastructure, secure environments, and mentor junior colleagues.

Collaborate with development teams to implement DevOps best practices, optimize monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, and cloud design. You will contribute to scalable, reliable, and secure IT operations across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in systems/network administration.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft environments, networking, cloud, and security.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
• Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues and collaborate with development teams.

Alteo is seeking a Senior System Administrator for a permanent position based in Montreal.

*** Hybrid work: 2 days in the office per week ***

Within a well-established SME offering exciting challenges, you will be responsible for implementing best practices in IT infrastructure. You will have a significant impact by improving processes related to systems, networks, IT security, DevOps, vendor management, and team coaching.

You are an experienced system/network administrator with excellent analytical skills, as well as a keen sense of organization and priority management. You have an entrepreneurial/builder mindset, are engaged, and results-oriented. You are a strong communicator and are committed to mentoring junior colleagues.

Responsibilities:

• Administer, secure, and monitor on-premises and cloud (Azure) network infrastructures

Profile:

• DEC/BAC in IT or equivalent
• 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role: systems/network administration
• Solid expertise in Microsoft environments and systems, networking, cloud, and security
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, and GitHub platforms (a plus)
• Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (a plus)
• Understanding of challenges related to deploying SaaS solutions (a plus)
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) (a plus)
• Experience in highly available and mission-critical environments (a plus)
• Awareness of best practices in security, compliance, and governance (a plus)
• Natural leadership, positive attitude, and team spirit
• Ability to collaborate closely with development teams
