Hitachi Rail Canada Inc. invites applications for a Technical Safety Improvements and AI Intern position in Toronto. The internship runs January 2027 to December 2027 (8–12 months) with a 40-hour workweek onsite.

The role supports the Technical Safety department with safety engineering tasks, AI deployment, and process documentation. Candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field and should have strong communication skills and an eagerness to learn.

Qualifikationen

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's (minimum 2 academic years completed) or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Good communication skills, oral and written.
• Desire and ability to learn quickly and to contribute.
• Ability to work independently (find solutions and seek help when needed).
• Hands-on experience with Excel, PowerPoint, scripting languages.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools.

Key Job Functions

• Assist Technical Safety department on various tasks related to Safety Engineering, Safety Assurance and Independent Validation such as:
