Job summary

Pomerleau invites engineering students to join its Methods & Temporary Works Internship program. You will support major construction projects across Canada, with hands-on learning and mentorship in a collaborative environment.

Enrollment in an Engineering program is required, and you should be willing to work in-office with site visits. Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills are valued, with a path toward future opportunities within the company.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to develop and optimize construction methods and sequences.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
• Design temporary works including: formwork and falsework, hoisting and jacking systems, excavation and shoring systems, lifting/rigging devices, temporary bridges, pile templates, cofferdams, and access systems.
• Prepare or work with technicians to prepare models and drawings for M&TW.
• Prepare engineering calculations and documentation.
• Support construction teams with technical guidance, field reviews, and certificates of conformity.

To be eligible for Pomerleau’s internship program, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application and for the entire duration of the internship.
• Reside in Canada at the time of application and for the entire duration of the internship.
• Be duly enrolled in a Canadian post‑secondary institution or have graduated from such an institution within no more than six (6) months prior to the internship start date.
