Job summary

Pomerleau offers an internship program in construction and project management, inviting students to gain hands-on experience on large-scale building and infrastructure projects. Interns work closely with our teams to learn the ropes and make a real impact.

You will assist with project management tasks, support on-site directives, and develop skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving while contributing to project success and potential future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a recognized Engineering or Construction Management degree or diploma program.
• Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to actively participate on a construction site.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in project management tasks under guidance of Project Manager and team.
• Assist with daily tasks assigned by Project Manager.
• Control workshop drawings to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Support follow-up on site directives with on-site teams.
• Assist in preparing change notices with stakeholders for clear communication.
• Monitor technical aspects of project communications for accuracy and relevance.

To be eligible for Pomerleau’s internship program, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application and for the entire duration of the internship.
• Reside in Canada at the time of application and for the entire duration of the internship.
• Be duly enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution or have graduated from such an institution within no more than six (6) months prior to the internship start date.

As an intern at Pomerleau Construction, you will have the opportunity to support new and ongoing project growth while gaining invaluable hands‑on experience. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you'll work closely with our teams to learn the ropes and make a real impact.

What you will do

• Actively participate in project management tasks under the guidance of the Project Manager and team.
• Assist with daily tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
• Control workshop drawings to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Support the follow‑up on site directives in collaboration with on‑site teams.
• Assist in preparing change notices, working alongside stakeholders for effective communication.
• Monitor technical aspects of project communications for accuracy and relevance.
