Job summary

Pomerleau is offering a Design Coordinator Intern position across Canada. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting major construction projects, with mentoring from seasoned professionals and exposure to design, procurement, and site processes.

You should be enrolled in a Civil Engineering program and eager to learn in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Office and fieldwork are included in this paid internship, with potential for future opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Help facilitate communication between designers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Monitor design schedules and track progress to ensure timely reviews and submissions.
  • Support the management of design inputs, requests, and responses.
  • Participate in RFIs and Quality Review processes, ensuring clarity and relevance.
  • Review feedback and assist in coordinating design decisions related to procurement and construction.
  • Assist in organizing design workshops and documenting meeting outcomes.
  • Support site visits, field reviews, and inspections, and prepare field reports and follow-up documentation.

  • Be duly enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution or have graduated from such an institution within no more than six (6) months prior to the internship start date.

What you will do

  • Willing and able to work in both office and field environments, including participating in site visits and field reviews.
  • Basic understanding of geotechnical and structural engineering principles is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with utilities, municipal infrastructure, and civil construction practices is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

For this role, we are looking for interns who can start as soon as possible. We are open to 4-8 month internships.
