Job summary

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) seeks a motivated Intern, Marketing to support JUNO Awards initiatives in 2027. Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, you'll help execute campaigns, coordinate partner assets, and craft collateral in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are data-driven, organized, and able to work independently and with cross-departmental teams.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program.
  • Domestic student (Permanent Resident / Canadian Citizen).
  • Experience in marketing, communications, music, entertainment, partnerships or related field is an asset.
  • Strong marketing principles with ability to propose innovative ideas.
  • Collaborative mindset with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to tone and detail.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel and flexible schedule (evenings/weekends).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with promotions and marketing campaigns leading up to The JUNO Awards.

LOCATION: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

POSITION DETAILS: Internship (8-month contract), Full-time

START DATE: Monday, September 14, 2026

END DATE: Friday, April 16, 2027

COMPENSATION: $17.95/hour, paid biweekly

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

CARAS was created to preserve and enhance the Canadian music industry and to contribute towards higher artistic and industry standards. CARAS’ mandate is comprised of four key pillars: Educate through our music education charity MusiCounts’ programs and initiatives, Develop emerging artists through mentorship and development programs, Celebrate Canadian artists through The JUNO Awards and other year-round initiatives, and Honour music industry icons through the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

OVERALL POSITION

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (“CARAS”) is seeking a passionate and highly motivated individual to serve as the Intern, Marketing, and support key initiatives for The 2027 JUNO Awards in Winnipeg, MB . Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, this role will help execute marketing tactics and contribute to cross-departmental projects that elevate the JUNO brand. The ideal candidate is energetic, data-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

BREAKDOWN OF RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Intern, Marketing, you will provide comprehensive support to the Marketing & Communications team throughout the season, focusing on campaign execution for The 2027 JUNO Awards. Key responsibilities include assisting with promotions, coordinating with partners, and developing marketing collateral. In this role, you will draft and edit copy, create reports and presentations, manage asset deliveries, handle contest fulfillment, and organize photography assets. Additionally, you will contribute to workback schedules, media toolkit distribution, and the relaunch of the JUNO Week App while collaborating cross-departmentally to ensure all project timelines and deliverables are successfully met.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the Manager, Marketing, in developing and implementing promotional priorities and marketing campaigns leading up to The 2027 JUNO Awards.
  • Support marketing promotions and initiatives, including drafting proposals and agreements with promotional partners (digital, broadcast, radio, print, OOH).
  • Coordinate asset trafficking and delivery of marketing collateral with partners.
  • Draft and edit copy for marketing materials across various channels (ads, newsletters, digital content, etc.).
  • Build visually compelling presentation decks and clear, concise market research reports.
  • Create and distribute media/digital toolkits for press releases and media advisories.
  • Develop and maintain workback schedules in Wrike to manage asset deadlines.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support marketing-related needs and deliverables.
  • Assist with photography logistics, including schedules, contracts, and organizing assets in shared drives.
  • Track project milestones to ensure timelines and objectives remain on course.
  • Support contest fulfillment, including winner communications, gifting, itineraries, and travel documentation.
  • Collaborate with the App team on the JUNO Week App relaunch, managing batch uploads, advertising functionalities, and administrative duties.
  • Provide general support to the Marketing & Communications team as required.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • Must be a domestic student (Permanent Resident / Canadian Citizen).
  • Previous professional experience in marketing, communications, music, entertainment, partnerships, or a closely related field is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of core marketing principles with the ability to propose out-of-the-box and innovative ideas.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to tone and detail.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable navigating ambiguity independently.
  • Eager to grow and strong interest in the Canadian music industry and pop culture; awareness of current artists, trends, and conversations.
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace, Canva, Mailchimp, TM1, and project management software tools (Wrike).
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset, but not required.
  • Ability to travel for work and maintain a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends, especially during busy periods leading up to and during JUNO Week.
  • Hybrid work model – minimum 2 days in office, 3 days remote.
