Job summary

Capital One Canada is seeking an engineer to join Team Pickle to build an internal onboarding experience tool. You will collaborate across frontend and backend, shaping requirements and delivering features with a focus on quality and security.

The role involves development, testing, deployment, and AWS cloud work, with a hybrid model (3 days in office). You’ll learn from mentors and contribute to a high-impact project used by thousands of Canadians.

Qualifications

• Will obtain a Bachelor’s degree or higher from December 2026 or later.
• Familiarity with application development using any backend programming language, and JavaScript.
• Good communication, presentation, and writing skills.
• Good understanding of testing fundamentals.
• Able to work within a team setting and actively participate and collaborate in team discussion.
• Complete the assessment no later than September 7, 2026 @ 11:59PM.

About the Team

Team Pickle is responsible for building an internal onboarding experience tool from the ground up. The team will contribute to requirements definition, frontend UI development, backend design and implementation, database schema definition, and high-level system architecture. Senior team members will provide technical guidance and mentorship.

About the Role

As an engineer on Team Pickle, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to define and deliver the product. This internal initiative offers a unique opportunity to actively shape and refine requirements based on your insights, expertise, and recommendations. You will be involved in building infrastructure, feature development, comprehensive testing (unit, component, and integration), deployment, monitoring, and addressing cyber security vulnerabilities.

Tech stack

• IDEs: IntelliJ, VSCode, Windsurf

• AWS: S3, Lambda, Route53, Security Groups, IAM roles
• CI/CD: Jenkins, Onepipeline (Capital One’s innersourced CI/CD pipeline)

• Experience with AI tools & development i.e. Claude, OpenSpec
