Job summary

Bombardier is offering an internship in Engineering Advanced Structures in St-Laurent, QC. You will work in a modern software environment to develop and optimize structural analysis tools and GUI interfaces for flight-critical software.

You are a CS/engineering student with Python skills, GUI/Qt experience, and knowledge of C++/C#/.NET. The role includes hybrid work, some travel possibly, and a chance to join Bombardier Academy of Learning during the 8-month program.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Computer Science or Engineering program (software, mechanical, or aerospace).
• Familiar with Python software development.
• GUI development experience; Qt is a plus.
• Experience with C++, C#, or VB.Net and Visual Studio is a plus.
• Experience with software testing and debugging.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming methods.
• Self-driven, autonomous with strong work ethic.
• Available for an 8-month internship.

Responsibilities

• Work in a modern software development environment using Git, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Copilot.
• Develop and optimize aircraft structural analysis tools.
• Support development of automatic finite element meshing tools.
• Contribute to solving software development challenges and improve Bombardier’s structural analysis tools.
• Develop and extend graphical user interfaces for existing tools to improve usability.

What are your contributions to the team?

In your role, within the Advanced Engineering group at Bombardier, you will:

• Work in a modern software development environment leveraging Git, Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Pipelines, and Artifacts), and GitHub Copilot.
• Develop and optimize aircraft structural analysis tools.
• Support the development of automatic finite element meshing tools.
• Contribute to solving software development challenges and propose solutions to support the continuous improvement of Bombardier’s structural analysis software and engineering tools.
• Develop and extend graphical user interfaces for existing tools to improve usability and user experience.

• You are enrolled in a Computer Science or an Engineering program (software, mechanical, or aerospace).
• You are familiar with Python software development.
• Experience with the development of graphical user interfaces (GUI) and Qt is a plus.
• Experience with C++, C#, or VB.Net and Visual Studio suite is a plus.
• You have experience with software application testing and debugging
• You are knowledgeable of object-oriented programming methods.

• You are available for an extension or a longer internship (8 months)
