Job summary

International Air Transport Association (IATA) invites applications for an internship within the Information Security team. You will work under the Manager Aviation Information Security in the Information & Data Division, contributing to industry cybersecurity initiatives and policy materials.

The role focuses on researching threats, developing guidance, coordinating meetings, and supporting governance activities, all while gaining hands-on experience in a global aviation environment.

Qualifications

• Recent university degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related field (within one year of graduation).
• Previous entry-level administrative work experience.
• Interest in technology, cybersecurity, and the aviation industry.
• Proven organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support aviation cybersecurity initiatives and industry meetings.
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats, regulations, and best practices.
• Develop cybersecurity guidance, reports, and policy documents.
• Support advocacy for global aviation cybersecurity standards.
• Coordinate industry meetings and stakeholder engagement.
• Prepare agendas, meeting minutes, and action logs.
• Contribute to projects aligned with developing skills and team needs.
• Maintain knowledge repositories and collaboration platforms.
• Assist in updating the team's intranet and external site content.
• Perform additional duties to support the team initiatives.

About The Team You Are Joining

You will be joining the Information Security team within the Information & Data (I&D) Division, reporting to the Manager Aviation Information Security under the Head Information Security GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) & Aviation Partnership, as part of a small team of cybersecurity professionals.

What Your Day Would Be Like

• Supporting aviation cybersecurity initiatives, industry meetings, and study group activities;
• Conducting research on emerging cybersecurity threats, regulations, standards, and best practices impacting the airline industry;
• Assisting in the development of cybersecurity guidance material, reports, presentations, and policy documents;
• Supporting advocacy activities related to global aviation cybersecurity standards and regulatory harmonization;
• Assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of industry meetings and stakeholder engagement activities;
• Preparing agendas, meeting minutes, action logs, and stakeholder communications;
• Contributing to a project aligned with your developing skill set and the needs of the Aviation Cybersecurity team;
• Helping maintain knowledge repositories, collaboration platforms, and cybersecurity information-sharing resources;
• Supporting the maintenance of the team's intranet and external site content;
• Performing additional duties as required, e.g. supporting the coordination of policy exception, security risk assessment tasks, and other team initiatives.

• Recent university Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related field (within one year of graduation);
• Previous entry-level administrative work experience;
• Interest in technology, cybersecurity, and the aviation industry;
• Proven organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail;
• Excellent PC skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite;
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across different stages of initiatives;
• Customer-focused mindset and strong interpersonal skills in a global environment;
• Proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of another language is an asset.
