Stantec’s Buildings team invites an intermediate level Architect Intern to contribute to architectural schematics, space programming, and site planning while shaping the form, sections, and details of building projects. You will join an innovative team focused on sustainable prototypes.

Under the guidance of Senior Architects, you will work across institutional, education, commercial, retail, and healthcare sectors, collaborating with engineers and specialists to deliver design excellence.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of Senior Architects, develop designs for institutional, education, commercial, retail, and healthcare projects.
• Assist in business development activities such as proposals and attending conferences.
• Evaluate and assimilate design changes from client or project architect.
• Coordinate architectural design with other design team members and consultants.
• Manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Your Opportunity

You will work on tasks under the guidance of an Architect or a Senior Designer. This is an intermediate level Architect Intern design role. You will be designing architectural schematics, developing space programming and site planning, as well as developing the form of the building, sections, and architectural details. You will be working with an innovative team on creating new sustainable prototypes.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Senior Architects, develop designs for projects in a variety of sectors (institutional, education, commercial, retail, healthcare)
• Assist in business development activities such as writing proposals, attending conferences, reviewing work plans.
• Evaluate and assimilate design changes introduced by the client or project architect
• Coordinate the architectural design with other members of the design team along with engineering consultants and specialist design disciplines.
• Manage multiple projects at the same time, with minimal supervision.
• Assist in the preparation of deliverables at all project phases.
• Support good practices and established policies on project delivery, quality control, and safety
• Continuously contribute to our team’s goal of delivering excellence - in design, project delivery and communication
