The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) is seeking an Intermediate UX Designer to join our UX Design Team. This team is part of a larger Digital Experience division that includes product owners, developers, and analysts, all working together to deliver high-quality, user-centric digital products across various business units.

In this intermediate UX design role, you will leverage your experience in visual design and UX principles across web, mobile, and app platforms. Your involvement will span from conception and ideation to executing high-fidelity interactive prototypes for stakeholder review, guided by your UX Team Lead. When launching digital products or feature updates, you will collaborate with developers to ensure design specifications are properly implemented, maintaining quality and consistency.

Your main responsibilities include creating user-focused designs and prototypes based on market analysis, customer feedback, user research analytics, and requirements to ensure impactful digital experiences for AMA’s 1 million+ members.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Report to the Agile Team Lead, UX Design, within the Digital Design team.
• Collaborate with the larger Digital Product team, including Product Owners and Business Analysts, led by the Director of Digital Products.
• Transform complex business ideas into elegant user experiences through high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
• Apply creativity, visual design skills, and UX best practices across platforms to craft engaging user experiences.
• Combine business metrics, objectives, and user needs to design scalable digital products and user flows.
• Create multi-page sales funnels, application designs, online systems, campaigns, and digital assets.
• Utilize insights from marketing and optimization teams, conducting user research and testing to inform design decisions.
• Follow UX best practices, usability heuristics, and brand guidelines to produce consistent, impactful digital experiences.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

• Possess a university degree or post-secondary diploma in UX Design, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or Visual Communication.
• Have 3+ years of proven experience designing enterprise websites and/or mobile apps.
• Possess strong knowledge of technical constraints and implementation considerations.
• Experience creating wireframes, user flows, visual designs, and prototypes with thorough documentation.
• Proficiency in prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Attention to detail and high-quality visual and interaction design skills.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating UX and visual design expertise.
• Bonus points for knowledge of HTML/CSS, user research experience, and experience in regulated industries like insurance.
