This role is a 12-15 month opportunity.
The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) is looking for an Intermediate UX Designer to join our UX Design Team. The design team is part of a larger Digital Experience team that includes product owners, developers, and analysts to deliver high-quality, user-centric digital products across AMA’s various business units. In this role, you will leverage your experience in visual design and UX to work on digital products across web, mobile, and app platforms. You will be involved in conception and ideation, creating high-fidelity interactive prototypes for stakeholder review under guidance from your UX Team Lead. You will also collaborate with developers to ensure proper implementation of design specifications, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
Your primary responsibilities include creating user-focused designs and prototypes based on market analysis, customer feedback, requirements, and user research analytics to ensure successful digital projects and visual marketing assets that enhance the digital experience for AMA’s 1 million+ members.

What You'll Do
- Report to the Agile Team Lead, UX Design, within the Digital Design team.
- Work with the larger Digital Product team, including Product Owners and Business Analysts, led by the Director of Digital Products.
- Collaborate across business units to translate ideas and complex problems into elegant, useful user experiences via high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
- Apply your creativity, visual design skills, and UX knowledge across desktop, mobile, and app platforms throughout an iterative process.
- Combine business metrics, objectives, and user needs to create enterprise-level user flows and digital products at scale.
- Design multi-page sales funnels, application interfaces, online systems, digital campaigns, and assets.
- Utilize insights from marketing and optimization teams.
- Use quantitative and qualitative research to understand customer behavior and translate findings into design.
- Plan and conduct user testing, including usability tests, card sorting, surveys, and interviews.
- Follow UX best practices, heuristics, and brand guidelines to create impactful digital experiences with attention to detail and consistency.
What You’ve Done
- Hold a university degree or post-secondary diploma in UX Design, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or Visual Communication.
- Have 3+ years of experience creating enterprise multi-page websites and/or mobile app designs.
- Possess strong knowledge of technical constraints and implementation.
- Experience creating wireframes and user flows, thinking holistically about user journeys.
- Fluent in user behavior, testing, and UX/UI best practices across platforms.
- Ability to operate in undefined goal and constraint spaces.
- Effective under deadlines, managing multiple projects.
- Proven collaboration skills across disciplines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience creating wireframes, user flows, visual designs, and prototypes with documentation.
- Proficient in Figma, Adobe XD, and Creative Suite.
- Attention to detail and high-quality visual and interaction design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating UX and visual design skills.
- Bonus points for: knowledge of HTML/CSS, experience with user research, and industry experience with high compliance standards.
