What You Will Do

• Provide underwriting exceptions to specialty line guidelines when necessary, maintaining a profitable portfolio.
• Revise existing underwriting guidelines and establish new ones within the organization’s risk appetite.
• Conduct audits and generate audit reports.
• Maintain in-force policies, ensuring all are issued within service standards with the correct documentation.
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with MGAs by providing exceptional customer service.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, or fax, and make outgoing calls as needed.
• Track and report on daily, weekly, and monthly production activities.
• Assist in monthly business activity reporting.

Who You Are

• Post-secondary education in a related field and/or a CIP designation is required; working towards FCIP or CRM is an asset.
• At least 3 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting.
• Experience with casualty underwriting is an asset.
• Strong product knowledge and understanding of insurance policy wordings, with sound decision-making skills.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
• Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to build professional relationships.
