Job summary

EXP Services Inc. is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Fredericton, NB team. You will collaborate on local and North American geotechnical projects, coordinating field investigations, designing analyses, and preparing proposals with a strong client focus.

You will contribute to an expanding Earth & Environmental group, participate in business development, and travel as needed. APEGNB registration and a background in geotechnical/civil engineering are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
• APEGNB P.Eng. registration or eligible.
• Minimum 5 years in geotechnical/civil engineering.
• Strong English communication; French is an asset.
• Willingness to travel with valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, develop, and oversee subsurface field investigations and QA/QC inspections.
• Prepare proposals and technical reports.
• Conduct detailed design and analysis for geotechnical projects.
• Coordinate on designs with other disciplines for multi-disciplinary projects.
• Manage small to mid-size projects including cost monitoring and schedule control.
• Support Earth & Environmental group with client relationships and BD initiatives.

Your Challenge

We are currently seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing New Brunswick team in Fredericton, NB. Not only will you be given an opportunity to help bring local geotechnical projects to life; but you will also have a chance to collaborate with EXP team members across North America on some very large and challenging projects!

Your Responsibilities

• Coordinating, developing, and overseeing subsurface field investigations and QA/QC inspections;
• Preparation of proposals and technical reports;
• Conducting detailed design and analysis for a variety of geotechnical projects;
• Coordinating on designs with other engineering disciplines for multi-disciplinary projects;
• Managing small to medium sized projects, including cost monitoring, schedule control, communications with clients, and contract documentation; and,
• Support the development of the Earth & Environmental group by developing relationships with existing and future client contacts, attending meetings, and supporting Business Development initiatives.

The Skills & Knowledge You Bring

• Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university;
• Must be registered with APEGNB as a P.Eng. (or be eligible for registration);
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical and/or civil engineering;
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to communicate in French is an asset;
• Motivated to provide excellent client service and enjoy working in a team environment;
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Demonstrated interest and sensitivity toward occupational health and safety and our quality management system; and,
• Willingness and ability to travel for project work, including having an active driver’s license.
