Job summary

EXP, a large multinational architecture and engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our New Brunswick team in Fredericton. You will work on local geotechnical projects and collaborate with EXP colleagues across North America on large, challenging assignments.

The role covers field investigations, proposals, detailed design, and coordination with other disciplines. Requirements include a civil engineering degree with geotechnical focus, P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
• Registered with APEGNB as a P.Eng. (or eligible).
• Minimum of 5 years of geotechnical and/or civil engineering experience.
• Strong English communication skills; French is an asset.
• Willingness and ability to travel with valid driver's license.

• Prepare proposals and technical reports.
• Conduct detailed design and analysis for geotechnical projects.

Your Challenge:

We are currently seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing New Brunswick team in Fredericton, NB. Not only will you be given an opportunity to help bring local geotechnical projects to life; but you will also have a chance to collaborate with EXP team members across North America on some very large and challenging projects!

Your Responsibilities:

• Coordinating, developing, and overseeing subsurface field investigations and QA/QC inspections;
• Preparation of proposals and technical reports;
• Conducting detailed design and analysis for a variety of geotechnical projects;
• Coordinating on designs with other engineering disciplines for multi-disciplinary projects;
• Managing small to medium sized projects, including cost monitoring, schedule control, communications with clients, and contract documentation; and,
• Support the development of the Earth & Environmental group by developing relationships with existing and future client contacts, attending meetings, and supporting Business Development initiatives.

The Skills & Knowledge You Bring:

• Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university;
• Must be registered with APEGNB as a P.Eng. (or be eligible for registration);
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical and/or civil engineering;
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to communicate in French is an asset;
• Motivated to provide excellent client service and enjoy working in a team environment;
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Demonstrated interest and sensitivity toward occupational health and safety and our quality management system; and,
• Willingness and ability to travel for project work, including having an active driver’s license.
