Job summary

WSP in Kamloops seeks an Intermediate to Senior Civil Engineer (Municipal & Land Development) to help shape resilient communities in the Southern Interior of British Columbia.

Lead design for municipal water, wastewater, stormwater and road projects, manage concepts through construction, and mentor junior staff.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client-focused solutions and build strong municipal partnerships across the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in municipal infrastructure and/or land development projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia, or eligible for registration.
  • Proven experience delivering civil design projects through construction, including contract administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of municipal servicing standards and infrastructure systems.
  • Proficiency with civil design software such as Civil 3D or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to project leadership and client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Design municipal water, wastewater, stormwater, and roadway infra projects.
  • Lead design of water mains, sewers, pump stations and related works.
  • Manage projects from concept through construction within scope, schedule and budget.
  • Provide field reviews, progress reporting, and contract administration.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, specs, and contract documents.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client-focused solutions.
  • Build relationships with municipal clients and project partners in the Southern Interior.
  • Conduct field reviews at critical milestones.

As an Intermediate to Senior Civil Engineer (Municipal & Land Development), you’ll play a key role in shaping resilient, sustainable communities across Kamloops and the Southern Interior of British Columbia.

Your Impact
  • Design and deliver civil engineering solutions for municipal water, wastewater, stormwater, and roadway infrastructure projects.
  • Lead preliminary and detailed design of linear infrastructure including watermains, sanitary and storm sewers, pump stations, and associated civil works.
  • Manage projects from concept through construction, ensuring quality, schedule, budget, and riskobjectivesare achieved.
  • Provide construction services including field reviews, progress reporting, and contract administration.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents that clearly communicate design intent.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated,client‑focusedsolutions.
  • Build andmaintainstrong relationships with municipal clients and project partners throughout the Southern Interior.
  • Conduct field reviews at critical milestones

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 – $118,900
MB & ON: $81,900 – $112,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $81,100 – $107,700
