You have a knack for building strong relationships with key stakeholders and thrive on developing your team. Your ability to communicate with others in laymen terms is key in advising engineering support to other departments. You are a self-starter, requiring minimal supervision delivering solid results in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Hire, develop and train junior engineers/designers.
• Oversee the design of small to mid size structures and perform calculations and analysis, ensuring compliance with safety standards and relevant provincial codes and regulations.
• Oversee the permit process.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Manage the engineering budget.
• Ability to draft detailed documents and reports.
• Stay updated on relevant industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PEng) is required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in structural engineering.
• Proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit or Sketchup.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations related to structural design.
• Strong knowledge of building materials and sustainability.
• Analytical thinker identifying root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Demonstrate initiative with a can-do attitude.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
