Job summary

Fortinet in Burnaby, BC is looking for an Intermediate Software QA Developer to assist our R&D Team. The role involves manual and automated testing, defect tracking, and collaborating with developers to ensure quality software releases.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in QA or network engineering, strong Unix/Linux skills, and proficiency with TCP/IP, firewalls and packet capture tools like Wireshark. Cloud knowledge is a plus, with a robust benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software quality assurance or network engineering experience in IT or related industry preferably in routing/switching/network security fields.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environment is a must.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, switching and routing is essential.
• Familiar with system maintenance and troubleshooting, understanding of software and hardware components.
• Ability to write clear and reproducible problem reports and test results.
• Knowledge of firewalls, Linux and packet capture utilities like Wireshark.
• Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills; motivated, responsible learner.
• Familiar with system installations, configurations, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language: Shell, Ruby, Perl, Python, etc.
• Background in cloud computing is a plus.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $83,000 - $102,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
