Job summary

Randstad Canada in Toronto seeks an Intermediate Software Engineer specializing in Python or Go with a data focus. You will design, develop, and maintain backend services for reporting, analytics, data export, and data-driven features in a hybrid work model.

The role requires strong backend skills, experience with data-intensive systems, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This is a full-time position with 2 days onsite weekly.

Qualifications

• Backend or Backend-focused full stack development experience (5+ years).
• Experience building data-driven features like data export and insights (2–3+ years).
• Experience with dimensional data modeling, data transformation and data visualization best practices (2–3+ years).
• Proficiency in Python or Go (or both) and familiarity with BE languages (3–5+ years).
• Cloud platforms experience (3–5+ years).
• Knowledge of cloud-based data warehousing (3–5+ years).
• Understanding of data privacy, security, and governance best practices (2–3+ years).
• Experience with data serialization formats such as JSON, CSV (2–3+ years).
• MySQL (5+ years) and PostgreSQL (3–5+ years).
• Knowledge of design patterns (3–5+ years) and microservices (3–5+ years).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (5–7+ years).
• Collaborative and team-oriented approach (5–7+ years).
