Job summary

PointClickCare is redefining healthcare software engineering, enabling engineers to build scalable, secure SaaS solutions for health providers. The Intermediate Software Engineer role focuses on delivering high-quality Java applications, RESTful services, and TDD-driven development within a hybrid Canada-based team.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with internal teams, mentors, and vendors to enhance products, while leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, and cloud tech.

Qualifications

• Experience writing clean code that performs well at scale using Java.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).
• Solid experience writing RESTful API endpoints.
• Absolutely love TDD and have working knowledge of it.
• Proficient in Git.
• Experience using system and performance monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic, DataDog).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, RestAssured).
• Excellent organization, critical-thinking and personal leadership skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to deliver with minimal supervision.
• Being okay with the uncomfortable feeling that comes from learning new things.
• Team player.
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude.
• Proven experience as a great Engineer.
• BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree.
• Generative AI Code Assistants experience would be an asset.
• Bonus points for UI frameworks React/Angular; cloud experience; SaaS, SOA; scripting languages like Python/Bash.

Travel to Office expectations

$112,000 - $125,000 a year

At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The CAD base salary range for this position is $112000- $125000 (not overtime eligible) + bonus + benefits. Compensation is assessed individually and aligned to experience, skills, and market context. The posted range reflects typical expectations for this role.
