Job summary

Englobe Corp. in Canada seeks an Electrical Technologist to support electrical design for commercial, municipal, institutional, and industrial projects, collaborating with teams in Moncton and Fredericton.

You will perform drafting, prepare drawings, and contribute to power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems. Required: a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, 5–10 years in design/drafting, strong knowledge of electrical codes, proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit,

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical design, drafting or field services in consulting, construction or engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design and drafting; knowledge of electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate health and safety leadership and follow Englobe policies.
• Assist planning, design and drafting of electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Contribute to design of power distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, security and low‑voltage systems.
• Conduct field investigations, site reviews, and data collection for projects.
• Review shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, contract docs, specs, and project documentation.
• Support project budgets, construction cost estimates and schedules.
• Coordinate electrical design with mechanical, structural, civil and environmental teams.
• Attend client and coordination meetings to support project delivery.

Your main responsibilities

As an Electrical Technologist, you will work in collaboration with the Electrical teams based in Moncton and Fredericton, NB, while contributing to a variety of commercial, municipal, institutional, and industrial projects. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety leadership by following and promoting Englobe's Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices;
• Assist with the planning, design, and drafting of electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects;
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit;
• Contribute to the design of power distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, security, access control, communications, and networking systems;
• Perform field investigations, site reviews, condition assessments, and data collection activities;
• Review shop drawings and contractor submissions for compliance with project requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, contract documents, specifications, and supporting project documentation;
• Support the development of project budgets, construction cost estimates, and schedules;
• Coordinate electrical designs with multidisciplinary project teams, including mechanical, structural, civil, and environmental professionals;
• Attend client meetings, project coordination meetings, and construction progress meetings while supporting project delivery objectives.

What makes you unique

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution;
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or field services within the consulting, construction, or engineering industry;
• Eligibility for, or registration as, a Professional Technologist (P.Tech.) designation is considered an asset;
• Strong understanding of building electrical systems, including power distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and low-voltage systems;
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices;
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design and drafting;
• Experience with electrical analysis and design software such as AGi32, SKM, ETAP, or similar tools is considered an asset;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset;
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities;
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
