Job summary

Englobe is seeking an Electrical Technologist to join a collaborative team in Moncton NB with hybrid work options. You will contribute to electrical design across commercial, municipal, institutional, and industrial projects, preparing detailed drawings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting project delivery.

The role requires a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology and 5–10 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or related discipline from an accredited institution.
• 5–10 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or field services in consulting, construction or engineering.
• Registration as CET or eligibility is an asset.
• Strong understanding of building electrical systems and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, design, and drafting of electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Contribute to power distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems design.
• Perform site investigations, reviews, and data collection.
• Coordinate electrical designs with multidisciplinary teams and attend project meetings.

Your main responsibilities

As an Electrical Technologist, you will work in collaboration with the Electrical teams based in Moncton NB, while contributing to a variety of commercial, municipal, institutional, and industrial projects. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety leadership by following and promoting Englobe's Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices;
• Assist with the planning, design, and drafting of electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects;
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit;
• Contribute to the design of power distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, security, access control, communications, and networking systems;
• Perform field investigations, site reviews, condition assessments, and data collection activities;
• Review shop drawings and contractor submissions for compliance with project requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, contract documents, specifications, and supporting project documentation;
• Support the development of project budgets, construction cost estimates, and schedules;
• Coordinate electrical designs with multidisciplinary project teams, including mechanical, structural, civil, and environmental professionals;
• Attend client meetings, project coordination meetings, and construction progress meetings while supporting project delivery objectives.

What makes you unique

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution;
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or field services within the consulting, construction, or engineering industry;
• Eligibility for, or registration as, a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET.) designation is considered an asset;
• Strong understanding of building electrical systems, including power distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and low-voltage systems;
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices;
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design and drafting;
• Experience with electrical analysis and design software such as AGi32, SKM, ETAP, or similar tools is considered an asset;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset;
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities;
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
