Job summary

Architecture49 in Canada is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join our national practice. You will produce technical design and contract documents aligned with the Owner's Requirements and collaborate with project teams across disciplines.

You will validate designs for code compliance, sustainability, and regulatory standards while coordinating with internal and sub-consultant teams. Mentoring junior staff and supporting contract administration are also part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in architectural and building technology from an accredited technical college.
  • 7+ years' working as an Architectural Technologist for an Architectural consulting firm.
  • Experience in commercial, institutional, healthcare, or industrial project types.
  • Ability to detail architectural building systems and assemble full tender-ready drawing packages.
  • Understanding of current energy and sustainability requirements in Canada.
  • REVIT software experience is necessary.
  • Preference for BIM familiarity & workflows.
  • Preference for Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Preference for construction site experience.
  • Preference for bilingual (French/English) applicants.

  • Working with senior team members to validate that designs and deliverables conform to technical guidelines, code requirements and regulations.

  • Providing technical design solutions for facility construction including interior and exterior assemblies.

  • Coordinating with internal production teams and project sub-consultants

  • Providing technical mentoring and leadership to less experienced technical staff.

  • Assisting with contract administration including site visits and working with construction contractors.


Qualifications


  • Degree or diploma in architectural and building technology from an accredited technical college.

  • 7+ years' working as an Architectural Technologist for an Architectural consulting firm.

  • Must have experience in commercial, institutional, healthcare, or industrial project types.

  • Candidates must demonstrate substantial product knowledge, and an ability to detail architectural building systems, and put together full drawing packages suitable for tender.

  • Understanding of current energy and sustainability requirements in Canada.

  • REVIT software experience is necessary.

  • Preference given to candidates with understanding of BIM principles & workflows.

  • Preference given to candidates with Microsoft 365 environment.

  • Preference given to candidates with construction site experience.

  • Preference given to candidates with Bluebeam Bilingual (French and English) would be considered an asset.


Compensation


  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $80,800 - $107,000

  • MB & ON: $73,700 - $101,500

  • NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $73,000 - $96,900
