Job summary

Architecture49 is seeking a senior architect with Ontario registration or eligible status to lead design solutions and construction drawings for multi-disciplinary projects.

You will supervise a team, conduct BIM quality checks, and coordinate with consultants and clients to meet cost, quality and schedule targets. Travel to sites is required and familiarity with provincial/national codes is expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed architect with Ontario registration or eligible.
• 7+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Familiarity with provincial and national standards and codes.
• Bilingualism (French and English) would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of BIM principles & workflows.
• Experience with Visualization software and Adobe Creative Suite would be an asset.
• Experience in government, security, laboratories, sports/entertainment or transportation sectors is not required but an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team in producing architectural design solutions and construction drawings.
• Manage a group of architectural staff, leading project meetings, and coordinating all other building disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Perform internal reviews and quality checks of the models and drawings to ensure compliance with BIM standards.
• Research materials, products and technologies required for the design and incorporate into the details, specification and other documents.
• Manage a team of consultants.
• Client communication.
• Provide technical and administrative oversight to ensure that both the internal and external client needs are met and that the projects are delivered within cost, quality and schedule targets.
• Manage the financial aspect of the project including planning, scheduling, forecasting and staffing and working with accounting to achieve the desired results.
• Travel to work sites.

Qualifications

• Registered architect in Ontario (OAA), or eligibility to be registered.
• 7+ years experience in a similar role.
• Familiarity with both Provincial and National related standards and codes.
• Bilingualism (French and English) would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of BIM principles & workflows, REVIT software, AutoCAD software, Microsoft 365 environment and Bluebeam.
• Experience with Visualization software, and Adobe Creative Suite would be considered an asset.
• Experience in key A49 sectors - Government, Security and Defence, Laboratories, Sports and Entertainment, or Transportation – is not necessary but would be considered an asset.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $80,800 - $107,000 MB & ON: $73,700 - $101,500 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $73,000 - $96,000
