Job summary

McRae Integration Ltd. (Actemium Toronto) seeks an Intermediate Reliability Specialist to lead Life Cycle Project Management for major projects in Mississauga. You will gather requirements, coordinate with customers and vendors, and implement RC/M-based reliability improvements across plants.

The role requires 5+ years in related industries, strong leadership and communication skills, and proficiency with P&IDs and Excel. Travel within Ontario is expected as part of the job.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or extensive reliability/maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years in strategic/tactical project management in industrial beverage, brewing, life sciences or related industries.
  • Ability to read P&IDs and communicate across all organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (functions/macros) and related MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Gather project requirements from OEM docs and customer input.
  • Coordinate meetings with customers and vendors to outline solutions and finalize the Reliability Program.

Intermediate Reliability Specialist - Actemium Toronto

Location: Mississauga, ON and On-Site

Position Status: Permanent Full-Time

Hours: 40 hours per week; Hours can be flexible to meet the needs of the project

Actemium Toronto is an established leader in controls integration, project management, and engineering services for a wide range of clients in a variety of industries. The main industries we support include but are not limited to Food & Beverage, Brewing, Life Sciences and Energy industry. This is a full-time permanent role reporting directly to the Client Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the project team to complete Life Cycle Project Management of projects ranging from 500K-1M+.
  • Gather Project Requirements based on OEM documentation, requests and information provided by the customer.
  • Lead and coordinate meetings with the customer and equipment vendors to outline solutions and finalize the Reliability Program.
  • Manage the research, development, and implementation of the processes and procedures in accordance with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles to improve equipment performance and reliability for our customers.
  • Create internal project budget in partnership with the Client Manager, obtain official approval to submit proposals on behalf of the Asset Care Team.
  • Create project schedule timelines & milestones from start to finish and ensure all internal and external stakeholders are aligned with proposed schedule. Contact all vendors to obtain lead-times of spare parts and documentation.
  • Lead the overall execution, organize and manage all project activities including but not limited to meeting minutes, project timelines, customer expectations, approvals, and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Manage the creation of hierarchies, BOMs (RSPL & parts that have potential to fail), spares, measuring points, task lists, and maintenance plans and providing final sign-off for submission to CMMS Integration process.
  • Responsible for contacting vendors with RFQs to obtain pricing and lead times for all items added to plant maintenance BOMs.
  • Manage spare part stocking analysis based on data driven inputs using our analytical processes and tools.
  • FMEA development with mitigating actions using RCM style approach.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, or extensive and applicable reliability and maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of strategic and tactical project management experience in industrial beverage or brewing manufacturing, bakeries, high-speed packaging of consumer goods, heavy industrial and/or pharmaceutical life science industries.
  • The ability to read and analyze Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Ability to effectively interact with and communicate to all levels of a manufacturing organization – shop floor to boardroom.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, meeting facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Good comprehension of construction work and its safety requirements.
  • Ability to work with a local team of professionals both internally and externally to ensure the execution of customer projects is successfully completed to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • High proficiency using Microsoft Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel (Functions, Macros)
  • Exceptional time management and project execution skills.
  • Valid G class driver’s license and personal transportation to travel to customer job sites.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
Assets
  • PMP Certification and/or P. Eng Designation.
  • In depth knowledge of instrumentation, controls and automation, Rockwell Allen-Bradley.
  • Experience in bulk materials handling CIP (filtration, utilities & services, filling and packaging, cartoners and case packers, palletizers).
  • Experience working with various CMMS (SAP, Maximo, Oracle, JD Edwards, Fiix) and SharePoint.
  • Working knowledge of Reliability/World Class Manufacturing (WCM) concepts and methodologies
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with predictive technologies.
  • Experience in FMEA, RCFA, reliability centered maintenance (RCM) and other reliability engineering approaches.
  • In-depth knowledge of MRO spares optimization methodologies and best practices.
  • General understanding of regulatory requirements for electrical and safety systems i.e., CSA, ESA, etc.
  • French communication skills (verbal and written).
About your working environment
  • Travel is required within Ontario, Canada and outside of Canada.
  • Will be required to wear protective equipment in designated areas such as hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toed safety boots.
  • May be exposed to cold, heat and humidity, loud noise levels, and dust.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
Compensation

Base pay: $90,000 – $115,000. The final compensation offered will be determined based on the candidate’s level of experience, skills and qualifications. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
