Job Summary

Lauren Services is seeking an Intermediate Process Engineer to join our team. The role involves working on various oil, gas, mining, and renewable energy projects, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and timely project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Process Engineering Design:
    • Proficiency in Process Engineering design
    • Develop Block Flow Diagrams (BFD), Process Design Basis (PDB), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat & Material Balances (HMB), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Line Designation Tables (LDTs), Design Basis Memorandum (DBM), Shutdown Keys, and Process Control Narratives
    • Conduct Conceptual Studies, pre-FEED, and FEED studies (FEL1, FEL2, FEL3)
    • As-Built existing facilities
  • Regulatory and Compliance:
    • Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements/Compliance and Industry Codes and Standards (ABSA, ANSI, API, CZA 662)
    • Serve as Engineer of Record when required
  • Project Management and Teamwork:
    • Work independently or in multi-discipline project teams
    • Communicate effectively with team members and clients
    • Manage project workload and performance
  • Technical Skills and Experience:
    • Strong debottlenecking and troubleshooting skills
    • Experience with Natural Gas Systems, Distribution Systems, Process Modeling, and blow downs
    • Familiarity with large central compressors (30-40 horsepower), including considerations for sizing such as horsepower, isentropic efficiencies, and thermal efficiencies
    • Knowledge of AIR Coolers – Fin fan coolers, SURGE, and STONE WALL
  • Safety and Risk Management:
    • Lead or participate in PHAs, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, LOPA

Skills

  • Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and industry practices
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with peers, project managers, site managers, and clients
  • Proven track record as a design engineer
    • Ability to work in a team of engineers, designers, and support personnel

Education & Experience

  • Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
  • P.Eng. designation in Alberta, BC, and other jurisdictions is beneficial
  • 10+ years of Technical Experience in Process Engineering
  • Experience in Oil & Gas production facilities, Compression Facilities, Gathering Systems, Pipeline facilities, Fractionation Plants, Turbo-Expander Cryogenic Plants, Dehydration Units, Waste Heat Recovery, Renewable Energy Processes, and Loading Terminals
  • Proficiency in Process Simulation software such as HYSYS and Symmetry or equivalent

Additional Information

  • The job is a hybrid arrangement between our Vancouver office and remote work and may require travel to project sites.
