Our Personal Insurance Underwriting team is expanding! We seek new team members for our National Operations Centre to support growth. As an Intermediate Underwriter, you will apply your experience to assess complex risks, support broker relationships, and contribute to profitable underwriting.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide exceptional customer service to brokers, supporting renewals, new business, and policy changes for auto and property lines.
2. Manage phone queues, providing relevant information for underwriting transactions and risk analysis.
3. Explain underwriting decisions to brokers, maintaining strong relationships.
4. Underwrite risks within your authority to ensure profitability.
5. Handle work duties efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting or exceeding department goals.

Qualifications:

1. At least 3 years of personal insurance underwriting experience.
2. CIP designation or working towards it is preferred.
3. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
4. Excellent communication skills and relationship-building abilities.
5. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
6. Ability to work independently and take initiative.

This role is hybrid, requiring two days per week in our Cambridge, Ontario office.
