We are currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings team in Grande Prairie. In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical systems for a wide variety of building projects across Northern Alberta - with a particular emphasis on healthcare and mission-critical facilities, where system reliability, code compliance, and occupant safety are paramount.
Our regional portfolio includes acute care hospitals, continuing care and community health centres, correctional facilities, and other essential public infrastructure. You will work closely with engineers, technologists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while supporting the continued growth of CIMA+'s local presence in the region.
This role offers a balance of technical design, project coordination, and hands-on field engagement - including site visits, commissioning, and construction support for projects throughout Northern Alberta. You will take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours, working from home and in our Grande Prairie, AB office.
Eligible for membership with APEGA - P.Eng. or P.L.Eng.
Minimum 6 years' experience in mechanical building systems design, ideally including healthcare or other mission-critical / essential facilities
Proficiency with Revit (MEP) and AutoCAD; experience with load-calculation and energy-modelling software (e.g., Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP) is an asset
Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards - National Building Code (Alberta Edi
