Callidus Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer for Building Services to support projects across our London, Kitchener, and Kingston offices. You will contribute to mechanical design, piping and duct sizing, and coordination with clients and contractors.

Formación

• 5-10 years of experience in Mechanical Design with Building Services considered a plus.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple offices (London, Kitchener, Kingston) and with clients, contractors and sales reps.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; proactive and organized under deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Mechanical design and drafting including setting up drawings and backgrounds; drafting mark-ups from senior staff; heat transfer calculations; equipment sizing for heating, cooling and piping; fire protection layout.
• Coordinate with clients and other disciplines; prepare project documentation and shop drawings; handle RFIs and monthly draws during construction.
• Conduct field reviews and construction administration, supporting trades during installation and site coordination.

Responsibilities Include:

• Mechanical Design and Drafting
  • Setting up drawings and backgrounds
  • Drafting mark-ups provided by senior staff
  • Heat transfer calculations
  • Heating and cooling equipment sizing
  • Pipe sizing and pump selection
  • Sizing pipes for domestic water and sanitary drain systems
  • Sizing duct systems for air distribution
  • Layout of fire protection systems
• Communicate with clients, contractors and sales reps, prepare project documentation and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
• Conduct field reviews and construction administration (shop drawings, RFIs, CCNs, monthly draws, etc) and interact with installing trades during construction.

Required experience:

• Candidates with 5-10 years experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

• College degree such as Mechanical Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology or
• Familiarity with AutoCAD
• Pro-active approach to work assignments and opportunities
• Ability to multi-task and be organized, especially under the stress of deadlines
• Strong leadership skills
• Desire to work within a team environment and work across multiple offices
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
