Job summary

A leading bank in the Americas is seeking an entry-level Developer for its Core Banking system in Toronto. Qualifications

  • Fluency in English, both oral and written, is required.
  • Experience with programming languages Cobol, JCL, SQL preferred, but open to other languages.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.

As an entry-level Developer for Core banking system, you will work standard and additional overtime hours to meet project deadlines and provide 24x7 production support on a rotational basis. You will offer support and counsel to ensure technology teams and business areas understand all available options and technology choices to support their business needs. Fluency in English, both oral and written, is required, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to translate business requirements into functional systems.

• Application languages (Cobol, JCL, SQL) -- will consider candidates with no mainframe experience if they have other programming language experience and are willing to learn Cobol, JCL, etc.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills and is capable of multi-tasking and managing concurrent tasks and initiatives.
• Must be reliable, pro-active, results-oriented, customer-focused, attentive to details, and a team player.
• Strong interpersonal skills and can build and foster relationships with team members and peers.
• Innovative approaches to developing process improvements and solutions; ability to convey and promote these ideas.
• Working experience with systems development methodologies and software development technologies, concepts and lifecycle.
• Worked in Agile lab or used Agile framework.
• Experience in Java, Azure, GCP is an asset
• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent
