Job summary

Northland Properties is seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to lead interior design projects for hospitality spaces, including hotels and restaurants. You will produce detailed design and construction documents, mood boards, schedules, and specs, while aligning designs with project scope, budget, and schedule.

You will source FF&E, coordinate with vendors, and collaborate with drafting teams to develop comprehensive plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of interior design experience, including at least 3 years in hospitality (hotels/restaurants).
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
• Versatile and flexible with strong creative/problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of hotel/restaurant furnishings and sourcing, with material/furnishings research ability.
• Strong technical interior design programming and contract document development (plans, specs, calculations, standards).
• Excellent AutoCAD, InDesign, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office skills.
• Confident presenting concepts to executives/owners; highly organized with multi-project management.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop interior designs for new-build and renovation projects aligned with scope, budget and timelines.
• Align Design & Construction documents with accessibility, code, brand, and Northland standards.
• Specify products and materials, outline fabrication specs.
• Source FF&E and finishes; coordinate with suppliers and review shop drawings.
• Collaborate with drafting to develop plan sets and finish plans; manage documentation.
• Mentor junior team members; support site construction teams with regular visits.
• Contribute to company culture and represent Northland Properties professionally.
