Job summary

Zeidler Architecture seeks an Intermediate Interior Design Technologist to join the in-house team in Vancouver, contributing to the production of interior design contract documents across varied project types.

The role emphasizes coordination with senior designers, consultants, and clients, ensuring codes and standards compliance while maintaining high-quality technical drawings and documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Interior Design Technology or related discipline.
• 5–9 years of experience in producing interior design contract documents.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience across commercial, residential, institutional projects.
• Knowledge of Building Codes and municipal bylaws.
• Familiarity with contract administration processes.
• LEED AP or WELL AP is an asset.
• PMP certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead setup and development of documentation, modeling, and specifications across design phases.
• Prepare complete drawing packages for permit and construction submissions.
• Review and coordinate technical drawings for constructability and compliance.
• Conduct code analyses for documentation and municipal submissions.
• Coordinate with consultant teams and integrate input into documentation.
• Liaise with clients and authorities to support design approvals.
• Manage documentation for tendering and assist in bid preparation.
• Attend site meetings, review shop drawings, and assist in contract administration.
• Refine project delivery tools and standards.

We are currently seeking anIntermediate Interior Design Technologist to join the Calgary Studio to work onfederal and corporate workplace projects.

Job Summary

The Intermediate InteriorDesign Technologist plays a key role in the execution and coordination ofinterior design documentation. With several years of experience, theIntermediate Technologist is responsible for coordination with Senior Designerin producing high-quality technical drawings, managing consultant information,and ensuring compliance with codes and standards throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Documentation

• Leadsetup and development of documentation, modeling, and specificationsacross design phases.
• Preparecomplete drawing packages for permit and construction submissions.
• Reviewand coordinate technical drawings to ensure constructability andcompliance.
• Conductcode analyses in support of documentation and municipal submissions.

Project Support and Coordination

• Coordinate with consultant teams andintegrate their input into documentation.
• Liaise directly with clients andauthorities to support design approvals.
• Manage documentation for project tenderingand assist in bid preparation.
• Attend site meetings, complete shopdrawing reviews, and assist in contract administration tasks.
• Participate in the refinement of projectdelivery tools and standards.
• Ensure all work aligns with the firm’sProject Delivery standards, including proper use of filing systems,adherence to architectural procedures, and compliance with drawing anddocumentation protocols.

Team and Culture

• Contribute actively to a fully in-office,collaborative team setting.
• Share feedback and insights to helpimprove systems and best practices.
• Adhere to project delivery processes andcompany health and safety procedures.
• Foster strong internal and externalcommunication and collaboration.
• Able to work in a collaborative, in-officeenvironment (100% in-office presence required to support direct teamengagement and effective cross-functional coordination).
