Zarek Taylor Grossman Hanrahan LLP in Toronto is seeking a hard-working lawyer with 5–10 years of experience to join our civil litigation team. This role offers leadership opportunities and a clear path toward partnership while emphasizing mentorship and collaboration.

The successful candidate will manage Tort and Accident Benefits files, supervise staff, and work closely with clients, experts and opposing counsel in a fast-paced, collegial environment.

Qualifications

• LL.B. or J.D. from a recognized law school is required.
• Called the Ontario Bar and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario is required.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Insurance Defence or Plaintiff side Personal Injury with both Accident Benefits and Tort files.
• A proven track record of success in handling files.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
• Highly organized and client-service oriented.
• Experience managing and working with staff including legal assistants, law clerks, and accounting staff.
• Experience with coverage files is preferable but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Hold carriage of both Tort and Accident Benefits files with direct client contact
• Ensure proper documentation including using our file management system and adhering to both internal and external best practices
• Attend discoveries, meditations, EUOs, LAT hearings, pre-trials, and other litigation events both virtually and in-person
• Collaborate closely with opposing counsel, clients, and experts to mitigate exposure and have successful outcomes
• Manage internal teams including legal assistants and law clerks
