GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices in Ontario and Atlantic Canada, and we are looking for a motivated and experienced Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our team. GEMTEC values creative, talented employees and invests in their development, fostering a versatile and multi-faceted workforce.

We currently have an opening for an Intermediate Hydrogeologist in our Greater Toronto Area operation. This role offers the opportunity to support and expand our existing Environmental Science Team in Oshawa or Mississauga. You will collaborate with hydrogeologists, engineers, and environmental scientists to manage hydrogeological projects supporting land development, infrastructure, and water supply objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Earth Science, Geological Engineering, or related fields with an emphasis on physical hydrogeology.
• Registration with Professional Geoscientists Ontario or Professional Engineers Ontario.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant consulting experience.
• Proven experience in hydrogeological field programs.
• Strong knowledge of physical hydrogeology applications, including site characterization, hydraulic testing, dewatering, water balance, Low Impact Development, water supply, source water protection, private servicing, and monitoring programs.
• Familiarity with software such as Aqtesolv, Surfer, Leap Frog, Excel, Access; groundwater modeling experience is an asset.
• Understanding of Ontario’s groundwater and water quality regulations and well construction standards.
• Experience managing consulting projects from proposal to completion.
• Flexibility to work overtime and adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Proposal development, budgeting, hydrogeological program planning, analysis, and reporting.
• Supervision and support of field programs: drilling, testing, sampling, monitoring, and construction.
• Managing projects, including scope, resources, and client/regulator communication.
• Preparing comprehensive reports with data analysis, interpretation, and modeling.
• Presenting findings to clients, regulators, and the public.
• Training and mentoring junior staff.
• Supporting client development and maintaining team collaborations.
• Engaging in ongoing professional development.
