Qualifications

Job Description

As an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer, you will work on various complex projects within an organization renowned for delivering large-scale, world-class projects. Based in our Calgary, Alberta office, this role offers opportunities to contribute to the growth of our Calgary operations.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Manage and coordinate projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Lead design and analysis in areas such as:
  • Tailings and mine waste management for proposed, operating, and closed mines;
  • Dam safety assessments for water and tailings dams;
  • Environmental impact mitigation and monitoring;
  • Closure and reclamation projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee field investigations, instrumentation, and testing programs.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Travel within western and northern Canada, and internationally.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer in Canada.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Geotechnical design and analysis, especially stability analysis of earthfill embankments, soil foundations, and tailings storage facilities.
  • Site investigation and construction experience in our practice areas.
  • Preparing design packages for tendering and construction.
  • Using Autodesk Civil 3D and GIS software.
  • Excellent communication skills, including proposal writing, technical reports, and presentations.
  • Timely project completion within budget.
  • Commitment to safety and sustainability.
  • Initiative, innovation, eagerness to learn, and technical excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long-term relationships with clients and colleagues.
