INTERMEDIATE FRONT-END DEVELOPER | Full-time, permanent

Works onsite in Calgary, AB
Work schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Mandatory in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday
Remote optional days are on Wednesday and Thursday

About the Role
An Intermediate Front-End Developer at Tiller contributes to our success by building high-quality websites and web applications for a wide range of clients. If you are a skilled developer, team player, and exceptional problem solver, we’d like to meet you.

What you get to do:

  1. Collaborate with project managers, brand strategists, designers, and other developers on web projects
  2. Interpret project briefs to understand project requirements
  3. Conduct research and test ideas to determine technical feasibility of client ideas, UX/UI designs, etc.
  4. Build custom, high-quality websites and web applications to drive results for our clients
  5. Optimize websites and web applications for maximum speed and scalability as well as for SEO best practices
  6. Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  7. Push clients towards fresh, exciting ideas
  8. Make suggestions for better solutions to problems
  9. Work in a fast-paced agency environment
  10. Keep abreast of latest and emerging technologies and development methods

You may be fit for this role if you have:

  • Passion about helping companies achieve their objectives
  • Experience using and/or working with design systems such as Tailwind, Material, and/or Bootstrap
  • Experience with WordPress (not off-the-shelf templates but custom development; experience with Advanced Custom Fields, WooCommerce, Gravity Forms, and Yoast SEO are also an asset)
  • Experience with full stack development an asset but not required
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch), to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on a graphic or image
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that websites will adhere to them
  • Good understanding of coding and development best practices
  • Critical thinker and problem solver with strong research skills
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work well in a team and with a range of creative people
  • Confidence in building a rapport with clients and nurturing good working relationships
  • Are able to see other people’s points of view and take feedback
  • Are highly self-motivated, well organized, and have an eye for detail
  • Are able to work under pressure and manage workloads effectively
  • Ability to handle multiple planned and unplanned projects and responsibilities
  • Work well within strict budgets and timelines

We work onsite to be intentional about optimizing collaboration and creativity on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. (Remote/ Work From Home is optional on Wednesdays and Thursdays)

Workstations include a MacBook and an electric sit-stand desk.

Our 2 kitchen cafes are stocked with really, really good coffee. 

Compensation

The base salary range for this position will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

Pay ranges at Tiller are reviewed annually against external data within the Alberta market to attract, retain, and motivate our incredible talent with a competitive total compensation package.

Performance incentive bonus - everyone is eligible for one no matter what your role with us.
