Job summary

Systemex Industrial Consulting (SIC) seeks an Intermediate Engineer – Process Performance and Operational Readiness to support projects in mineral processing. You will participate in audits, perform data analysis, and develop ORP plans alongside senior engineers and client teams across operations, maintenance, engineering, and commissioning.

You’ll contribute to SOPs, training plans, and tools to improve facility performance, with regular travel to mining sites and a strong emphasis on health,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical, chemical, process, mining engineering, or related discipline and OIQ eligible.
• 5–10 years in mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, or industrial facilities; operational readiness is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of mineral processing, mass balances, data analysis, and KPIs.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel to industrial/mining sites with focus on HSE.
• Proficiency in French is mandatory; proficiency in English required for client communication outside Quebec.

Responsibilities

• Participate in performance audits of mineral processing plants and related analyses.
• Develop, monitor, and analyze KPIs, dashboards, and process data for decision-making.
• Identify process improvements to reduce variability and improve circuit stability.
• Support tests, sampling, performance testing, start-up, ramp-up, and performance reviews.
• Contribute to operational readiness plans, ORP audits, and client workshops.
• Develop SOPs, operational documentation, training plans, and competency matrices.
• Collaborate with automation teams to optimize process control and setpoints.
• Develop audit methodologies, analysis tools, and technical reports for continuous improvement.

As the Intermediate Engineer – Process Performance and Operational Readiness you will support optimization, operational readiness, start-up, and performance improvement projects in the mineral processing and extractive metallurgy sectors.

Reporting to the Director, Process Performance and Optimization and working closely with senior engineers, you will contribute to technical audits, performance analyses, operational readiness plans, test campaigns, and the development of tools and methodologies that improve industrial facility performance, while collaborating with client-site teams across operations, maintenance, engineering, automation, and commissioning as needed.

Responsibilities

• Participate in performance audits of mineral processing plants, including process data analysis, mass, water, and metallurgical balances.
• Develop,monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), performance dashboards, and statistical process data to support informed decision-making.
• Identifyprocess improvement opportunities, reduce operational variability, and contribute to circuit stability, process stabilization, and performance improvement studies.
• Support industrial tests, sampling campaigns, performance testing, start-up, ramp-up, and operations performance reviews.
• Participate in the development and audit of operational readiness plans, including ORP audits, organizational readiness assessments, and client workshops.
• Contribute to the development of SOPs, operational documentation, training plans, and competency matrices.
• Collaborate with automation teams to improve process control strategies, optimize operating parameters, and adjust setpoints.
• Develop audit methodologies, analysis tools, technical reports, presentations, and contribute to the continuous improvement ofSystemexpractices and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical, chemical, process, mining engineering, or a related discipline; member of the Ordre desingénieursdu Québec (OIQ) or eligible for membership.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, or industrial processes, including the operation, optimization, commissioning, or continuous improvement of industrial facilities; Operational Readiness experience is an asset.
• Good knowledge of mineral processing, mass balances, data analysis, and performance indicators.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, and teamwork skills.
• Availability for regular travel to industrial and mining sites, with a strong commitment to health, safety, and the environment (HSE) and a proactive approach to safe interventions aligned with best practices.
• Proficiencyin French is mandatory.Proficiencyin English is alsorequiredin order tocommunicate effectively with internal clients and partnerslocatedoutsideof Quebec.
