Job summary

Englobe is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer for our Calgary office. You will lead electrical design for Building Services in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities while mentoring junior engineers and technologists.

Ideal candidates hold an Electrical Engineering degree, are registered with APEGA or ASET, and bring 7+ years in related fields. AutoCAD/Revit and SKM experience are assets.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered with APEGA (P.Eng) or ASET (P.Tech.(Eng.))
• Minimum 7 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is an asset.
• Electrical power system modeling (up to 750V) using SKM is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support electrical engineering design for Building Services team (commercial, institutional, and industrial).
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists.
• Prepare cost estimates, technical reports, meeting minutes, design drawings, specifications and contract documents under guidance of senior engineering staff.
• Electrical System Design including: Commercial/Industrial building electrical designs, distribution and backup power systems, Fire Alarm / Life Safety, lighting, communications, and door access/security.
• Provide technical assistance on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Apply applicable codes including the Canadian Electrical Code and National Building Code.
• Construction inspections to ensure design compliance.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, utility companies and contractors.
• Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures and client relationships.

We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer position for our Calgary office. This position requires an Electrical Engineer (or Professional Technologist of Engineering) with an interest in Commercial / Institutional / Industrial electrical & controls design to work.

Your main responsibilities

• Lead and support electrical engineering design for Building Services team including commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists.

• Liaising with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies and utility companies and contractors.
• Maintaining knowledge and understanding of safety policies and procedures.
• Maintaining client relationships.

What makes you unique

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University or a diploma in a relevant discipline.
• Registered with APEGA (P.Eng) or ASET (P.Tech.(Eng.))
• Minimum 7 years of experience in relavent electrical engineering fields
• Good verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Show an aptitude of general construction methods.
• Valid driver’s license (job duties may include some travel).
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience would be an asset.
• Electrical power system modeling (up to 750V) using tools such as SKM would be an asset.
• Leadership ability.
