How you'll make a difference:
- Work collaboratively alongside electrical engineers and technologists in designing lighting, power, security, fire alarm, communications and data communications systems for various types of buildings.
- Work with architects, interior designers, structural and mechanical engineers to create integrated and highly sustainable design solutions for a wide variety of building types
- Prepare high quality BIM (Revit) models and engineering drawings
- Reference local and national codes in the service of solving design problems in a way that is compliant
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams, learn and expand your knowledge of building services.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering studies and construction documents.
- Be involved in all phases of projects, from concept design, construction to completion
- Provide Contract Administration support for electrical engineering projects
- Attend construction meetings with contractors and owners (may or may not be responsible for chairing meetings)
- Mentor and develop junior team members
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required
- 3-5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in AEC or Consulting Engineering, drafting and design work power system design, fire safety, lighting, security systems, voice and data communication systems, and building and electrical codes for large buildings
- BIM expertise and proficiency in using Revit software are prerequisites for this position.
- Willing to learn and grow within a team-oriented and collaborative design environment
- Energetic and self-motivated, attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to obtain Government of Canada Security Clearance – Level II
- Ability to regularly travel to project sites
