Job summary

State in Vaughan, Ontario, is hiring a CNC Programmer to set up and program CNC routers and turret systems for high-end window and façade fabrication. You will work directly with the CNC Programming Supervisor and collaborate with engineering to ensure parts meet fabrication constraints.

The role requires 2+ years of programming experience, Inventor familiarity, and the ability to handle complex geometry. Ontario-based full-time position with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Machining, Programming Science, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and programming of CNC machines used for manufacturing.
  • Program MultiCam CNC Router, AMADA Turret and Salvagnini S4+P4.
  • Communicate with Engineering for drawings and patterns; update designs and programs as needed.
  • Quality control of produced parts; assist with other tasks as assigned.
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor (Sheet Metal 3D Modeling).
  • Strong mathematics and geometry skills.

About The Role

Reports directly to the CNC Programming Supervisor on all matters. The Intermediate CNC Programmer will be responsible for the set-up and programming of computer numerical control (CNC) machines used for manufacturing.

Duties are responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Receive job folders, separate procedures (Turret, Shear, Router);
  • Ensure requested parts are doable based on Stateform fabrication limitations (Tooling, Forming, Sheet sizes and Machine limitations)
  • Program MultiCam CNC Router and AMADA Turret and Salvagnini (S4+P4);
  • Communicate with Breakdown Detailers and Engineering Department for any conflicts regarding drawings and patterns;
  • Effective communication with Supervisors, Order Processors and Machine Operators daily in person;
  • Ensure that all required drawings, spreadsheets, bending instructions and notes are available in the job folder;
  • Responsible for updating designs and programs in case of a design change;
  • Quality control of produced parts; and
  • Any other tasks assigned by the CNC Programming Supervisor.
  • Experience using Autodesk Inventor (Sheet Metal 3D Modeling)
  • Experience working in the following software:
    • Dr. ABE
    • Enroute23
    • AlmaCAM
    • StreamPunch
    • StreamBend
    • Any other Nesting/Machining software
  • Strong skills in Mathematics (Geometry) and calculations
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Machining, Programming Science, or related area.
Years of Experience
  • Minimum 2+ years of programming experience
  • 2 years' experience with Inventor is an asset
Work Location
  • Work environment requires wearing PPE in certain other locations; and
  • Flexible to work overtime as required.
