Job Summary :

Equinox Engineering is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer with 5+ years of experience in EPCM or related engineering fields. The successful candidate will play a key role in civil / structural design, ensuring project requirements are met while maintaining compliance with industry codes and standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze structural designs for oil and gas facilities, pipelines, and related infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of Civil and Earthwork design experience is an asset.
  • Perform structural design calculations, prepare engineering sketches, and review drawings.
  • Prepare and review technical documents, including reports, specifications, and material take-offs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design consistency and alignment with project objectives.
  • Conduct site visits to support data collection, assessments, and construction activities as required.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Provide technical support during design reviews and construction phases.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow quality control procedures.

Key Skills

  • Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, including steel, concrete, foundation and civil design.
  • Software Proficiency : Experience with engineering tools such as RISA, STAAD, Mathcad or equivalent software. Good knowledge of using 3D modelling software for review and navigation.
  • Analytical Skills : Ability to perform complex structural calculations and interpret engineering data.
  • Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication for collaboration and technical documentation.
  • Attention to Detail : Commitment to producing accurate and thorough work.
  • Problem-Solving : Ability to identify and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
  • Teamwork : Collaborative mindset and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Education and Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering (required).
  • 5+ years of experience in EPCM, oil & gas, or industrial structural design.
  • Professional Designation : P.Eng. or eligibility for registration with APEGA.
  • Familiarity with engineering codes and standards (e.g., CSA, AISC, ASCE, API).
  • Experience with field assessments and construction support is an asset.
